- Stay up-to-date on current coding policies and procedures, as well as changes in coding regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the coding and billing team to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines when handling sensitive patient information.
- Assist with resolving any coding related denials or issues with insurance companies.
- Ensure all coding is completed within designated timelines to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Continuously evaluate and improve coding processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare providers regarding coding questions and concerns.
- Participate in training and education sessions to maintain and enhance coding skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing Kaiser Permanente and our outpatient facility.
- Take responsibility for maintaining accurate and organized records of coding activities.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to coding and billing.
- Play a vital role in maintaining high levels of patient care and reimbursement through accurate and timely coding.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification From Ahima Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From Aapc.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Coding Experience In An Outpatient Facility, Preferably In A Healthcare System Like Kaiser Permanente.
Proficiency In Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.
Familiarity With Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems, Such As Epic, And Coding Software, Such As 3M Encoder.
