- Assisting with patient care: The Orthopedic Technician will be responsible for assisting with patient care, including preparing patients for procedures, setting up equipment, and providing support as needed.
- Performing orthopedic procedures: The Orthopedic Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of orthopedic procedures, such as casting, splinting, and wound care, under the direction of a healthcare provider.

Education And Training: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required, And Completion Of A Formal Orthopedic Technician Training Program Is Preferred. Additional Certifications, Such As The National Association Of Orthopedic Technologists (Naot) Certification, May Also Be Required.
Experience: At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As An Orthopedic Technician Is Preferred. This Experience Should Include Exposure To A Variety Of Orthopedic Procedures And Equipment.
Knowledge Of Orthopedic Procedures And Equipment: A Thorough Understanding Of Orthopedic Procedures, Equipment, And Terminology Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Casting, Splinting, Braces, Traction Devices, And Other Orthopedic Tools And Techniques.
Attention To Detail: Orthopedic Technicians Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail In Order To Accurately Assess And Record Patient Information, As Well As Properly Apply And Adjust Orthopedic Devices. They Must Also Be Able To Identify Any Potential Issues Or Complications That May Arise During The Treatment Process.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: As Part Of A Healthcare Team, Orthopedic Technicians Must Have Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Work With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Provide Clear Instructions And Explanations To Patients And Their Families, As Well As Effectively Collaborate With The Rest Of The Team.
