As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our orthodontists in providing top-notch orthodontic treatment to our patients.   1. Assist orthodontists in all aspects of orthodontic treatment, including but not limited to taking and developing x-rays, preparing and sterilizing instruments, and setting up treatment areas.
  2. Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about the treatment process.
  3. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care instructions for their orthodontic appliances.
  4. Take accurate impressions and create models of patients' teeth for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  5. Monitor patient progress and communicate any concerns or changes to the orthodontist.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control and safety protocols.
  7. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  8. Collaborate with other dental assistants and team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  9. Continuously update and improve knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have with empathy and professionalism.
  11. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Adhere to Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to dental practice.
  13. Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and office processes.
  14. Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in orthodontic treatment and technology.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the orthodontist or office manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Dental Assistant: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Hold A Valid Certification As A Dental Assistant From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience In Orthodontics: Kaiser Permanente Is Looking For Candidates With A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In An Orthodontic Setting. This Will Ensure That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Specific Procedures And Techniques Used In Orthodontic Treatments.

  • Knowledge Of Dental Software: The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Dental Software Programs Such As Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Or Open Dental. This Will Enable Them To Efficiently Manage Patient Records And Appointments.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Dental Assistant, It Is Important To Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Orthodontists, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.

  • Bls Certification: Kaiser Permanente Requires All Employees To Hold A Valid Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Emergency Response And Can Provide Immediate Assistance In Case Of A Medical Emergency.
