We are seeking an experienced Optometrist to join the team at Kaiser Permanente. The Optometrist will provide comprehensive vision care to our members, including the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and the fitting and prescribing of vision aids. We are looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable professional who is committed to delivering the highest quality of care to our members.The ideal candidate for the Optometrist role will have a Doctor of Optometry degree or equivalent, a current license to practice optometry in the state of practice, and at least two years of experience in the field. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong knowledge of optometric principles, and exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities of an Optometrist:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose and treat ocular diseases and identify vision impairments.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment such as retinoscopes, lenses, and automated visual acuity machines to evaluate patient’s visual health.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses to patients.
- Inform patients about their vision and suggest lifestyle changes to improve or maintain vision health.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and safety measures.
- Keep detailed records of patient treatments and examinations.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatments if necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical regulations in the practice of optometry.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
