
Ophthalmology Technician
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Ophthalmology Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. Our ideal candidate will have a high degree of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a can-do attitude. The Ophthalmology Technician will be responsible for providing comprehensive ophthalmic care to our patients. If you are committed to providing outstanding patient care and have a strong background in ophthalmology, we want to hear from you.Required Qualifications:• A minimum of one year of experience in an ophthalmology setting• Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) or Ophthalmic Technician certification from a recognized institution• Knowledge of ophthalmology equipment and instruments• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Excellent organizational and time management skills• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation• Computer literacy (MS Office, EMR systems)• Ability to work with patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care to patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Utilize ophthalmology equipment and instruments to perform diagnostic procedures.
- Evaluate patient data and document findings in patient charts.
- Monitor and maintain accurate patient records and perform efficient follow-up tasks.
- Maintain a high level of communication with patients, co-workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures and aftercare instructions.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Utilize computer systems to manage patient data, billing, and other administrative tasks.
- Provide assistance with patient scheduling and other administrative tasks as needed.
Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician (Comt) Or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Certification
Knowledge Of The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Human Eye
