  1. Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with cancer and blood disorders.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  3. Administer and monitor treatments, medications, and procedures according to established protocols.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  6. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families coping with cancer and blood disorders.
  7. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic health records systems.
  9. Stay updated on advancements and developments in oncology and hematology to provide the best possible care to patients.
  10. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions.
  11. Collaborate with community resources to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  12. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  14. Maintain professional development and continuing education requirements.
  15. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect for patients and their families.
  16. Uphold the values and mission of Kaiser Permanente in all interactions with patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Nurse Practitioner - Oncology/Hematology Job At Kaiser Permanente Would Require A Minimum Of A Master’s Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Oncology Or Hematology.

  • Oncology/Hematology Certification: Candidates Should Hold A Valid Certification In Oncology Or Hematology From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (Oncc).

  • Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Registered Nurse In An Oncology Or Hematology Setting Is Required For This Position.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For A Nurse Practitioner - Oncology/Hematology Job At Kaiser Permanente. The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Colleagues Across Various Disciplines.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practice: Kaiser Permanente Places A Strong Emphasis On Evidence-Based Practice, And Candidates For This Position Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Current Research And Best Practices In Oncology And Hematology.
