- Perform nuclear medicine procedures and tests on patients under the direction of a physician or radiologist.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications as needed for procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and reactions to procedures, taking appropriate action in case of adverse reactions.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in nuclear medicine procedures.
- Prepare and calibrate equipment for procedures, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures performed and patient information.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of procedures.
- Educate patients about procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Stay current on advancements in technology and techniques in nuclear medicine.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Attend and participate in department meetings and trainings.
- Provide exceptional patient care and ensure their comfort and well-being throughout procedures.
- Uphold Kaiser Permanente's standards of excellence in patient care and customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to increase efficiency and quality of services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or manager.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Nuclear Medicine.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Organization.
Familiarity With Various Imaging Equipment, Including Pet/Ct, Spect/Ct, And Gamma Cameras.
