  1. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms of patients under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of any changes in patient's condition.
  3. Operate and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient's cardiac rhythms and any interventions taken.
  5. Monitor and report any alarms or abnormal readings to healthcare team for immediate attention.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding monitoring procedures and any necessary instructions.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  8. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Stay updated on current cardiac monitoring practices and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
  10. Assist with training and mentoring new monitor technicians as needed.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  13. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families at all times.
  14. Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.
  15. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a clean and safe environment.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Monitor Technician At Kaiser Permanente Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education To Be Considered For The Job.

  • Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls): Candidates For This Position Should Have A Valid Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls) From The American Heart Association Or The American Red Cross.

  • Experience With Cardiac Monitoring Equipment: Candidates With Prior Experience Working With Cardiac Monitoring Equipment, Such As Electrocardiograms (Ekgs) Or Telemetry, Will Be Given Preference.

  • Strong Attention To Detail: Monitor Technicians At Kaiser Permanente Are Responsible For Accurately Monitoring And Interpreting Patient Data, So It Is Important For Candidates To Have Strong Attention To Detail And The Ability To Identify Abnormalities.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: This Job Requires Constant Communication With Healthcare Professionals And Patients, So Effective Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For Success In This Role.
