Job Qualifications
  • Valid Social Work License: A Medical Social Worker At Kaiser Permanente Must Possess A Valid License To Practice Social Work In The State Where The Facility Is Located. This Demonstrates That The Applicant Has Met The Educational And Experiential Requirements To Provide Social Work Services In A Medical Setting.

  • Relevant Education: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Master's Degree In Social Work (Msw) From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Assess And Address The Complex Psychosocial Needs Of Patients In An Inpatient Setting.

  • Experience In A Medical Setting: Kaiser Permanente Prefers Candidates With At Least Two Years Of Experience Working In A Medical Or Hospital Setting. This Experience Enables The Social Worker To Quickly Adapt To The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of An Inpatient Unit.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: It Is Essential For A Medical Social Worker In An Inpatient Setting To Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures. This Knowledge Allows Them To Effectively Communicate With The Interdisciplinary Team And Accurately Document Patient Information.
