Medical Assistant - General Surgery

Responsibilities:

1. Greet and register patients, verify patient information, and obtain consent forms.
2. Assist providers with exams, treatments, and procedures.
3. Prepare exam and procedure rooms.
4. Administer medications as directed by providers.
5. Collect and process lab specimens.
6. Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
7. Educate patients regarding medications, treatments, and self-care.
8. Schedule appointments, tests, and follow-up visits.
9. Assist with medical billing and coding.
10. Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.
11. Participate in team meetings and departmental functions.
12. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
