Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology to join Kaiser Permanente in providing excellent patient care and service. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office/clinic setting as a Medical Assistant, and have a current Medical Assistant Certificate. The Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology will work as part of a team to provide a comprehensive approach to patient care, and have a commitment to providing quality, compassionate, and courteous care. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent patient care and service in a fast-paced medical office/clinic setting · Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the highest standards of professionalism • Assist with patient care needs following established protocols • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records • Take vital signs, medical histories, and other information from patients • Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, and ensure cleanliness • Assist physicians with treatments and procedures • Administer injections, medications, and other treatments as directed by physician • Perform laboratory tests and specimen collection • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention • Respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner • Maintain strong communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals • Maintain current knowledge of medical policies and procedures • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable laws and regulations
