- Assist physicians and nurses in providing high-quality healthcare to patients in the Day Surgery department.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with any necessary tasks, such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and updating medical records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
- Follow protocols and safety measures to ensure the proper handling and disposal of medical equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide them with necessary information and instructions before and after procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient care for patients.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patient information, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and maintain knowledge of medical procedures, treatments, and equipment.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during procedures and appointments.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, representing the values and mission of Kaiser Permanente.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Relevant Education And Certification: A Medical Assistant- Day Surgery At Kaiser Permanente Should Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, Along With Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program. Additionally, They Should Hold A Current Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama).
Clinical Skills And Experience: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Basic Anatomy, And Common Procedures Performed In A Day Surgery Setting. They Should Also Have Hands-On Experience Performing Tasks Such As Taking Vital Signs, Administering Medications, And Assisting With Minor Surgical Procedures.
Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehrs): Kaiser Permanente Utilizes Electronic Health Records For Their Patients, So Candidates Should Be Familiar With Ehr Systems And Have Experience Using Them In A Medical Setting.
