  1. Provide support to the surgical team by preparing and organizing equipment and supplies for surgeries.
  2. Assist with patient intake by obtaining and recording vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information.
  3. Prepare patients for surgery by assisting with gowning, positioning, and administering pre-operative medications.
  4. Prepare surgical rooms by ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary supplies.
  5. Assist the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing other necessary support.
  6. Monitor patients during and after surgery, reporting any changes in condition to the surgical team.
  7. Prepare and administer medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
  8. Provide post-operative care and education to patients and their families, including wound care and medication instructions.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  12. Attend regular trainings and continuing education to stay up-to-date on medical procedures and best practices.
  13. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
  14. Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  15. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Valid Certification As A Medical Assistant From A Recognized Institution.

  • Experience In Day Surgery: Previous Experience In A Day Surgery Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Surgical Center, Is Highly Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Day Surgery Is Essential For This Role.

  • Proficient In Electronic Medical Records (Emr): Kaiser Permanente Utilizes Electronic Medical Records For Patient Documentation, So Proficiency In Emr Systems Is A Must.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Medical Assistant Will Be Working Closely With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Vital For Success In This Role.
