
Manager - Utilization Management
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Manager of Utilization Management at Kaiser Permanente to join our team. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and an effective communicator who can manage challenging situations with integrity and enthusiasm. This individual will be responsible for achieving the strategic, financial, and operational objectives of our Utilization Management department.The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and organizational skills, be able to think analytically and strategically, and have a track record of successful management. They should have a strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including managed care, utilization review, cost containment, and reimbursement. The successful candidate should also possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field • Five years of experience in utilization management in a managed care setting • Knowledge of managed care principles, practices, and regulatory standards • Proficiency in the use of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills • Ability to interpret, analyze, and act on data and reports • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage staff • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities If you believe that you have the skills and experience necessary to excel in this role, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement utilization management strategies that meet or exceed the financial, operational, and strategic objectives of the utilization management department.
- Monitor utilization management processes to ensure that they are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Monitor and analyze utilization management data and reports to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Oversee and manage utilization management staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders and other departments within the organization.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of utilization management processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert in utilization management related topics.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services.
- Monitor utilization management activities to ensure that they are cost effective and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement quality assurance measures to ensure that utilization management processes are consistently meeting standards.
