Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse

3. Educate and empower new mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding and provide resources for overcoming challenges and common misconceptions.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and midwives, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to maternal and infant care.
5. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions, progress, and outcomes.
6. Stay current on evidence-based practices and guidelines related to breastfeeding and lactation support, and integrate them into daily practice.
7. Serve as a resource and mentor to other nurses and healthcare professionals on breastfeeding and lactation matters.
8. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families, providing emotional support and addressing any concerns or questions.
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for lactation support.
10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and ethical standards in all patient interactions and documentation.
11. Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by attending relevant conferences, workshops, and trainings.
12. Adhere to all Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols, to ensure the highest standard of care for patients.
