Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Preventionist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in preventing the spread of infections and ensuring the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors. As an Infection Preventionist, you will use your expertise and skills to develop and implement infection control policies and procedures, conduct surveillance, and provide education and training to our healthcare staff. To be successful in this position, we require candidates to have a strong background in infection control, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.   1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections in the healthcare facility.
  2. Conduct surveillance of infections and communicable diseases to identify potential outbreaks and implement appropriate measures.
  3. Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control protocols and best practices.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with infection control guidelines and regulations.
  5. Develop and maintain infection control reports and records for internal and external use.
  6. Stay updated on the latest research, guidelines, and regulations related to infection prevention and control.
  7. Conduct investigations and respond to infection control incidents, including outbreak management.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of infection control measures and make recommendations for improvement.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure appropriate response and management of infectious diseases or outbreaks.
  10. Communicate with patients, visitors, and staff on infection control measures and provide guidance on how to prevent the spread of infections.
  11. Assist with the evaluation and selection of infection control products and equipment.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control.
  13. Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  14. Serve as a resource for healthcare staff on infection control issues and provide support and guidance as needed.
  15. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agency requirements.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification In Infection Control, Such As The Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Infection Control, Including Cdc Guidelines And Joint Commission Standards.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Collect And Interpret Data, Identify Trends, And Make Recommendations For Improvement.
