- Assisting healthcare professionals in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to the gastrointestinal tract.
- Preparing and maintaining the procedure room and equipment.
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during procedures.
- Sterilizing and maintaining all equipment and instruments.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Recording and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Assisting in the transportation of patients to and from the procedure room.
- Adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participating in departmental and organizational quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining inventory and ordering necessary supplies.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Providing patient education and instructions for post-procedure care.
- Attending trainings and staying up-to-date with advancements in the field of gastroenterology.

Certified Gi Technician: Candidates Should Hold A Current Certification As A Gi Technician, Such As The Certified Gastroenterology Technician (Cgt) From The Society Of Gastroenterology Nurses And Associates (Sgna).
Experience In Gi Procedures: Applicants Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Gi Lab Or Similar Setting, With Knowledge Of Endoscopic Procedures, Equipment, And Supplies.
Knowledge Of Infection Control Protocols: As A Healthcare Organization, Kaiser Permanente Places A Strong Emphasis On Infection Control. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Proper Infection Control Measures And Protocols In A Gi Lab.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: The Gi Technician Will Work Closely With A Team Of Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Ensuring Efficient And Effective Patient Care.
