  1. Provide support during endoscopic procedures by setting up and organizing necessary equipment and supplies.
  2. Assist physicians and nurses with patient positioning and preparation for procedures.
  3. Monitor patient's vital signs and communicate any changes to the medical team.
  4. Ensure a clean and sterile environment in the endoscopy unit, following all infection control protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate and updated patient records, including procedure documentation and vital signs.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to provide information and address any concerns.
  7. Follow all safety regulations and protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  8. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure efficient and high-quality care for patients.
  9. Attend trainings and educational sessions to stay updated on new procedures and best practices.
  10. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while providing care to patients.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  13. Assist with other tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
  14. Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Endoscopy: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Certification In Endoscopy From An Accredited Program. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Assist The Gastroenterologist During Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Gastroenterology Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Gastroenterology Procedures, Such As Colonoscopies, Endoscopies, And Sigmoidoscopies. They Should Also Be Familiar With The Equipment Used During These Procedures.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Gastroenterology, Is Highly Desirable. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Handle Patient Care Responsibilities.

  • Attention To Detail: A Successful Endoscopy Assistant Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Equipment Is Properly Sterilized And Set Up For Procedures. They Should Also Be Able To Accurately Document Patient Information And Assist The Gastroenterologist With Any Necessary Tasks.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For An Endoscopy Assistant. They Will Be Working Closely With The Gastroenterologist, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate Is Crucial For Providing High-Quality Patient Care.
