  1. Provide direct patient care: The Emergency Department Technician will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals. This includes taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and providing basic patient care.
  2. Monitor patient status: The technician will be responsible for monitoring patients' conditions and reporting any changes to the healthcare team. This includes observing vital signs, assessing pain levels, and documenting any changes in patient status.
  3. Assist with procedures: The technician will assist healthcare professionals with various procedures, such as wound care, catheter placement, and splinting. They will be responsible for ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready and available for procedures.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized environment: The technician will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment in the emergency department. This includes restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring all areas are free of clutter.
  5. Communicate effectively: Effective communication is essential in the fast-paced environment of the emergency department. The technician will be responsible for communicating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure all needs are met and information is accurately conveyed.
  6. Respond to emergencies: In emergency situations, the technician will be responsible for responding quickly and efficiently to provide immediate assistance to patients and healthcare professionals.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols: The technician will follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and themselves. This includes proper handling of hazardous materials, following infection control measures, and adhering to emergency codes and procedures.
  8. Document patient information: The technician will accurately document all patient information, including vital signs, procedures performed, and any changes in patient status. This information is crucial for providing quality care and must be recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
  9. Maintain equipment: The technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment in the emergency department. This includes cleaning, calibrating, and reporting any malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Recognized Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Program Or Equivalent Certification.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Experience In A Hospital Emergency Department Or Ambulance/Paramedic Service.

  • Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification.

  • Proficiency In Performing Basic Medical Procedures Such As Wound Care, Splinting, And Vital Sign Monitoring.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Record Systems And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.
