Job Description

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for digital imaging and curation? Do you have a strong background in library science and experience working with digital collections? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Digital Imaging Librarian at Kaiser Permanente. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and preserving our digital image collections, ensuring their accessibility and usability for our healthcare professionals. Join our team and use your expertise to contribute to the advancement of healthcare through the management of digital resources.

  1. Manage and maintain digital image collections, including acquisition, organization, and preservation of digital materials.
  2. Collaborate with other librarians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement digital imaging strategies that align with organizational goals.
  3. Ensure the accessibility and usability of digital image collections for healthcare professionals, including troubleshooting any technical issues.
  4. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices for digital imaging and curation, and implement them as appropriate.
  5. Develop and implement metadata standards and workflows for digital image collections to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  6. Collaborate with internal departments to identify and prioritize digital imaging needs and projects.
  7. Conduct regular audits and assessments of digital image collections to ensure quality and compliance with organizational standards.
  8. Train and support library staff on digital imaging processes and procedures.
  9. Monitor copyright and intellectual property regulations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to the use and dissemination of digital images.
  10. Participate in professional development activities and represent the organization at conferences and events related to digital imaging and curation.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Library Science, Information Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Knowledge And Experience With Digital Imaging Systems, Including Adobe Creative Suite And Digital Asset Management Software.

  • Familiarity With Metadata Standards And Cataloging Practices, Such As Dublin Core And Marc.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Maintain Large Digital Collections.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, As The Position Will Require Working Closely With Various Teams And Departments Within Kaiser Permanente.
