- Implement child life interventions and activities to promote emotional well-being and coping skills for patients.

- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients based on their unique needs.
- Utilize knowledge of child development to create developmentally appropriate activities and interventions for patients.
- Educate and support families on coping strategies and resources to help them navigate their child's hospitalization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress.
- Serve as an advocate for pediatric patients, ensuring their voices and needs are heard.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in child life and healthcare to continuously improve and enhance services provided to patients.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide opportunities for patients to engage in normal childhood experiences during their hospital stay.
- Provide support and guidance to non-certified child life staff, students, and volunteers.
- Maintain a positive and supportive work environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
- Continuously evaluate and improve child life services, incorporating feedback from patients, families, and colleagues.
Certification As A Child Life Specialist From The Association Of Child Life Professionals.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Healthcare Setting.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of Child Development And Family Dynamics, As Well As Understanding Of The Impact Of Illness And Hospitalization On Children.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams And Provide Emotional Support To Children And Families.
