  1. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate play and activities for pediatric patients to promote emotional and social well-being.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team to provide individualized care plans for pediatric patients based on their unique needs and circumstances.
  3. Utilize knowledge of child development and family dynamics to support patients and families in coping with hospitalization and medical procedures.
  4. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for pediatric patients by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  5. Conduct assessments to identify the psychosocial needs of patients and provide appropriate interventions to address these needs.
  6. Educate and provide resources to parents and caregivers on how to support their child's emotional well-being during and after hospitalization.
  7. Plan and facilitate group sessions for patients to promote social interaction and peer support.
  8. Document patient progress and interventions in a timely and accurate manner.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide insight and support for patients and families.
  10. Stay up to date on current research and practices in the field of child life and implement evidence-based interventions.
  11. Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients and their families within the healthcare system.
  12. Collaborate with community organizations to provide additional resources and support for patients and families.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care.
  14. Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve child life services and programs to ensure the highest level of care for patients and families.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Or Related Field

  • Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Credential From The Association Of Child Life Professionals (Aclp)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Children And Families In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Pediatric Hospital

  • Knowledge Of Child Development And Family Dynamics, As Well As Understanding Of Coping Strategies For Children Facing Medical Challenges

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Medical Staff, Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team
