  1. Provide emotional and psychological support to children and families during their time at Kaiser Permanente.
  2. Utilize your expertise in child development to create and implement age-appropriate coping strategies for young patients.
  3. Plan and facilitate therapeutic play activities that promote emotional expression and development.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for pediatric patients.
  5. Advocate for the needs of children and families, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and support.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with patients and their families to provide ongoing support and resources.
  7. Educate and train other healthcare professionals on child development and the impact of illness and hospitalization on children.
  8. Stay current on best practices and research in the field of child life and incorporate them into daily practice.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and progress.
  10. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and progress monitoring.
  11. Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set forth by the Child Life Council and Kaiser Permanente.
  12. Maintain a safe and child-friendly environment for patients and their families.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve child life services to meet the evolving needs of patients and families.
  14. Participate in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness of child life services and promote the well-being of children in the community.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care to all patients and families.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Child Life Specialist From The Child Life Council.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Hospital Or Pediatric Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Child Development, Family Dynamics, And Coping Strategies For Children Experiencing Medical Challenges.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Healthcare Professionals, Families, And Children Of All Ages.
