- Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to help children cope with the challenges of illness, injury, and hospitalization.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care for pediatric patients.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Utilize knowledge of child development to educate and prepare children for medical procedures and treatments.
- Build and maintain relationships with patients and families to ensure a positive experience during their time at Kaiser Permanente.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for patients and families, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of patient interactions and progress.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and improvement initiatives.
- Keep up-to-date with best practices and research in the field of child life to ensure high-quality care for patients.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field
Certification As A Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Through The Association Of Child Life Professionals
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting
Knowledge And Understanding Of Child Development, Coping Techniques, And Family Dynamics In The Context Of Illness And Hospitalization
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team, As Well As Provide Support And Education To Patients And Families.
