
Child Life Specialist

- Utilize knowledge and expertise in child development to provide emotional support to children and families during challenging times.
- Conduct play therapy and utilize other psychosocial interventions to help children cope with medical procedures, hospitalization, and other stressors.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and interventions to promote emotional well-being and development in children.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for the needs of children and their families.
- Provide education and support to families to help them understand and participate in their child's care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of interventions and progress.
- Stay current on research and best practices in child life and incorporate into practice.
- Build rapport with patients and families to establish trust and create a positive and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with community resources to provide additional support and resources for families.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and provide input on the psychosocial needs of patients.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare professionals on the role and impact of child life.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Continuously evaluate and modify interventions based on the needs and progress of each individual child.
- Maintain a safe and clean playroom environment for children and families.
- Assist in training and supervising child life interns and volunteers.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field.
Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Credential From The Association Of Child Life Professionals.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Children In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Child Development, Child Psychology, And Family Dynamics.
