Job Description

We are looking for a passionate, experienced Charge Nurse to join our Inpatient team at Kaiser Permanente. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient-care and medical experience, with a commitment to delivering the highest quality of service. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of nursing care on the unit and for the supervision of nursing staff members. In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing team while developing and coordinating patient care plans with the patient’s physician and other healthcare personnel.The successful candidate must possess a current nursing license in good standing in the state of California, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. They must have at least two years of experience as a clinical nurse, with at least one year of charge nurse experience. The Charge Nurse must also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and lead the nursing staff on the unit, providing guidance and support.
  2. Develop and coordinate patient care plans with the patient’s physician and other healthcare personnel.
  3. Provide direct patient care and execute nursing interventions.
  4. Assist in training and orienting new nursing staff members.
  5. Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and guidance.
  6. Monitor patient outcomes and take corrective action as needed.
  7. Ensure that all nursing policies and procedures are followed.
  8. Process and document patient information in accordance with organizational standards.
  9. Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure that patient needs are met.
  10. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant healthcare regulations and laws.
