  1. Administer anesthesia to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  2. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to develop an appropriate anesthesia plan for each patient.
  3. Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed to ensure safety and comfort.
  4. Educate patients and their families about the anesthesia process and potential risks.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative evaluations.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
  7. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in anesthesia techniques and equipment.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  9. Comfort patients and provide emotional support during stressful or uncomfortable procedures.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Crna At Kaiser Permanente Must Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing To Be Considered For The Job.

  • Current Rn License In The State Of Practice: In Addition To A Bachelor's Degree, A Crna Must Also Have A Current Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working.

  • Graduate Degree In Nurse Anesthesia: Crnas Must Have Completed A Graduate Program In Nurse Anesthesia, Which Typically Takes 2-3 Years To Complete.

  • Certification From The National Board Of Certification And Recertification For Nurse Anesthetists (Nbcrna): This Certification Ensures That The Crna Has Met The National Standards For Practice And Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Safe And Effective Anesthesia Care.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Or Anesthesia: Kaiser Permanente Requires Crnas To Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Critical Care Or Anesthesia Setting Before Applying For A Position. This Ensures That The Crna Has A Strong Foundation Of Clinical Experience And Is Able To Handle Complex Cases.
