- Perform central sterile processing duties in accordance with established protocols and standards to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and safety for our healthcare facility.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment, and coordinate with supply chain management to order and restock as needed.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to continuously improve processes and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Train and mentor new staff members in central sterile processing techniques, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as surgery and emergency services, to ensure timely delivery and availability of sterile supplies and equipment.
- Stay current on industry advancements and best practices in central sterile processing to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Completion Of An Accredited Central Sterile Processing Technician Program Or Equivalent Experience.
Certification From The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm) Or The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd).
Familiarity With Current Industry Standards And Guidelines, Including Aami And Aorn.
Strong Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices And Procedures.
