  3. Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly labelled and stored.
  4. Document and maintain accurate records of all sterilization processes.
  5. Maintain inventory of supplies and order replacements as needed.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment.
  7. Follow strict infection control and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
  8. Identify and report any issues or malfunctions with equipment to appropriate personnel.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for sterilization and equipment maintenance.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to sterile processing.
  11. Train and mentor new sterilization technicians.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and recommend process improvements.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
  15. Provide excellent patient care by ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical equipment and supplies.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For A Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician Job At Kaiser Permanente. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Foundational Knowledge.

  • Certification From A Recognized Institution: Candidates Must Possess A Certification From A Recognized Institution Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Completed A Rigorous Training Program And Is Knowledgeable In Sterile Processing Techniques.

  • Previous Experience In Sterile Processing: Employers At Kaiser Permanente May Look For Candidates With Previous Experience In Sterile Processing. This Could Include Working In A Sterile Processing Department In A Hospital Or Other Healthcare Facility, Or Completion Of An Internship Or Externship Program.

  • Knowledge Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols: A Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols To Ensure The Proper Cleaning, Sterilization, And Handling Of Medical Equipment And Supplies.
