As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy of medical coding and billing processes. Our ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for accuracy. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in a medical coding or billing role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting. Additionally, to be considered for this role, you must possess a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification, as well as a thorough understanding of ICD and CPT coding principles and guidelines. Responsibilities:
- Review medical claims and coding to ensure accuracy and compliance with ICD and CPT coding principles and guidelines.
- Identify coding errors and make corrections as required.
- Monitor claims and coding for trends and potential issues.
- Assist with the development and implementation of coding and billing procedures.
- Update coding and billing documentation in accordance with changing regulations and standards.
- Provide training to staff on coding and billing procedures.
- Maintain records of coding and billing activities.
- Respond to inquiries from insurance companies and third-party payers regarding coding and billing issues.
- Collaborate with other departments such as finance, operations, and IT to resolve coding and billing issues.
- Develop and present coding and billing reports to management.
