  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the surgical unit, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  2. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures for the surgical unit.
  3. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as Kaiser Permanente's standards of care.
  4. Evaluate and monitor the quality of patient care provided by the surgical team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  5. Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
  6. Foster a positive and supportive work environment for the surgical team, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  7. Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical and administrative matters.
  8. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure a seamless experience for patients.
  9. Manage and maintain departmental budgets, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  10. Respond to patient and family concerns or complaints, addressing them promptly and effectively.
  11. Stay current on advancements in surgical nursing and healthcare practices, implementing best practices and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Practice.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Surgical Services, Preferably In A Leadership Or Management Role.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge And Experience In Clinical Operations, Budgeting, And Quality Improvement.

  • Proven Leadership Skills With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams.
