Job Description

At Kaiser Permanente, we are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team as an Assistant, Release of Information. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Responsibilities:

  1. Handle requests for medical records and other confidential documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Follow all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the release of information.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  4. Respond to requests for records from healthcare providers, attorneys, and insurance companies.
  5. Monitor requests for records and ensure that all documents are collected, scanned, and filed in accordance with company guidelines.
  6. Communicate with patients and their families regarding the release of information process.
  7. Assist in the preparation of reports and other documents in relation to the release of information.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to healthcare providers and patients.
  9. Work with other departments to ensure that requests are handled efficiently.
  10. Participate in training and development activities to improve skills and knowledge.
