1. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement strategies for providing high-quality and compassionate care to patients and their families.
2. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the nursing department, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
4. Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing feedback and coaching as needed to ensure a high level of care is maintained.
5. Serve as a role model for nursing staff, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and facilitate patient care, including interdisciplinary team meetings.
7. Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new nursing staff.
8. Assist in the development and management of the nursing department budget.
9. Ensure that patient and family needs are met by addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely and effective manner.
10. Stay up-to-date on healthcare industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for process improvements and best practices.
11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing department activities and patient care.
12. Adhere to and promote Kaiser Permanente's mission, values, and standards of behavior.
