- Conduct thorough assessments of patients struggling with addiction, including their history and current situation, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their unique needs and goals.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients to support their recovery journey.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in addiction treatment to continuously improve the quality of care provided.
- Educate patients and their families about addiction, its impact on individuals and families, and how to support recovery.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, following all HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues and other healthcare professionals regarding addiction and recovery.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in the provision of addiction counseling services.
- Continuously work towards building a trusting and supportive relationship with patients to facilitate their recovery journey.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all patients, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status.
- Participate in regular trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of addiction counseling.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, representing the values and mission of Kaiser Permanente.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide additional support and resources for patients.
- Adhere to all Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and concerns are addressed.
- Report any concerns or issues to the appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Continuously strive to uphold the reputation
Advanced Degree In Counseling Or A Related Field, Such As Psychology Or Social Work.
Certification Or Licensure As A Substance Abuse Counselor, Such As Certified Alcohol And Drug Counselor (Cadc) Or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (Lcdc).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Individuals Struggling With Addiction, Preferably In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches For Substance Abuse, Including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, And 12-Step Programs.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Rapport And Establish Trust With Clients From Diverse Backgrounds.
