Job Description

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is looking for an experienced Surgical Tech - Operating Room to join our dedicated team of professionals. In this role, you will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide our patients with the highest quality of surgical care and support. We are seeking an individual with a passion for delivering excellent patient care and exceptional attention to detail. In addition to possessing strong interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will have at least two years of Surgical Tech - Operating Room experience, a valid certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), and a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons during operations
  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures
  • Set up and maintain sterile fields
  • Ensure that all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized
  • Assist with patient positioning
  • Monitor patient vital signs during surgical procedures
  • Provide patient care before, during, and after surgery
  • Dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Maintain accurate records of all surgical procedures
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations
  • Follow the directions of the surgical team and anesthesiologist
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
