Senior Corporate Counsel, Data & Cyber Security

We're looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel, Data & Cyber Security to join the legal team at JM Smucker. If you have a passion for data privacy and cyber security, we want to hear from you!In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the business on data privacy and cyber security matters. You will be required to understand the complexities of the data privacy and cyber security landscape, and create and maintain policies to ensure compliance and reduce risk.To be successful in this role, you must have a law degree, be admitted to practice law in the US, and have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data privacy and cyber security law. You must also have an in-depth knowledge of applicable state and federal privacy and security laws.We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a passion for data privacy and cyber security. Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal advice and support to the business on data privacy and cyber security matters.
2. Understand the complexities of the data privacy and cyber security landscape.
3. Create and maintain policies to ensure compliance and reduce risk.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with external data privacy and cyber security experts.
5. Stay up to date on changes in state and federal privacy and security laws.
6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data privacy and cyber security policies.
7. Liaise with other departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance.
8. Effectively communicate data privacy and cyber security policies to all stakeholders.
9. Provide training and education to stakeholders on data privacy and cyber security best practices.
10. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate potential data privacy and cyber security risks.
