- Conduct regular patrols and monitor store premises to identify and prevent potential security threats.
- Investigate any suspicious activities or incidents, such as theft or vandalism, and report findings to management.
- Utilize CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment to monitor and record any suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and other security risks.
- Collaborate with store management to ensure that security protocols and procedures are being followed at all times.
- Train and educate store employees on security protocols and procedures, including proper handling of merchandise and responding to emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and other security-related activities.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies as needed, including providing testimony in court cases.
- Conduct internal investigations into employee theft or other policy violations as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in loss prevention to continuously improve security measures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with any security concerns or inquiries.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as medical emergencies or fire alarms, in a calm and efficient manner.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor when interacting with customers and employees.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security.
- Attend regular training sessions and meetings to stay informed on company policies and procedures.
Strong Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Techniques And Strategies: A Qualified Loss Prevention Officer At Jd Sports Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Loss Prevention Methods, Such As Cctv Monitoring, Inventory Audits, And Employee Training On Theft Prevention.
Previous Experience In A Similar Role: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Loss Prevention Or Security Role Is Often Required For A Loss Prevention Officer Position At Jd Sports. This Ensures The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Loss Prevention Practices And Can Hit The Ground Running In The Role.
Excellent Observation And Communication Skills: A Successful Loss Prevention Officer Should Have Keen Observation Skills To Identify Potential Theft Or Security Risks. They Should Also Possess Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Report Any Incidents To Management And Assist In Resolving Them.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Handle Confrontational Situations: As A Loss Prevention Officer, One May Need To Physically Intervene In Theft Or Security Situations. Therefore, Physical Fitness And The Ability To Handle Confrontational Situations In A Calm And Professional Manner Is Essential.
