- Monitor store entrances and exits to ensure the safety and security of customers and employees.
- Identify and prevent theft, fraud, and other illegal activities within the store.
- Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of the store to detect any potential security threats.
- Monitor and review CCTV footage to identify any suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement to handle any security or safety issues.
- Train and educate store employees on security protocols and procedures.
- Conduct thorough investigations and compile detailed reports on any incidents or accidents.
- Implement and enforce store policies and procedures regarding loss prevention.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, incidents, and security-related activities.
- Monitor and analyze inventory data to identify any discrepancies or potential theft.
- Communicate effectively with customers and employees to resolve any security-related concerns.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in loss prevention technology.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Work collaboratively with the loss prevention team and other store departments to ensure a safe and secure shopping experience for all.
Prior Experience In Loss Prevention Or Security Roles: Candidates For A Loss Prevention Officer Position At Jd Sports Should Have Previous Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Retail Or Customer-Facing Environment. This Experience Will Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Loss Prevention Techniques And Procedures.
Knowledge Of Retail Security Systems And Procedures: A Strong Candidate For This Role Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Retail Security Systems, Such As Cctv Surveillance And Electronic Article Surveillance (Eas) Systems. They Should Also Be Familiar With Common Security Procedures, Such As Bag Checks And Floor Patrols.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Loss Prevention Officer, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Both Customers And Colleagues Is Essential. Candidates Should Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Remain Calm And Professional In Potentially Confrontational Situations.
Attention To Detail And Observational Skills: A Successful Loss Prevention Officer Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Excellent Observational Skills. They Should Be Able To Spot Suspicious Behavior Or Potential Theft And Take Appropriate Action.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Handle Physical Tasks: This Role May Require Physical Tasks, Such As Chasing And Detaining Suspects, As Well As Standing Or Walking For Extended Periods. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle These Tasks Comfortably.
