- Conduct research and analysis on current market trends and customer preferences to identify opportunities for new fabric development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product developers, and sourcing teams, to develop innovative and high-quality fabrics that align with the company's brand and customer needs.
- Work closely with suppliers to source and evaluate new fabric options, negotiating costs and ensuring timely delivery of samples for testing and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain a network of fabric mills and suppliers to stay updated on new technologies, techniques, and materials that could be incorporated into the company's fabric offerings.
- Analyze and evaluate fabric performance and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications to meet quality and cost standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with external partners and industry experts to stay informed on emerging fabric trends and advancements in technology.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any challenges or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements related to fabric development and production.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate fabric production processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Textile Science, Apparel Design, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Fabric Research And Development, Preferably In The Retail Industry.
Strong Understanding Of Fabric Properties, Construction Techniques, And Manufacturing Processes.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Developing And Introducing New Fabric Innovations To The Market.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Designers, Sourcing Partners, And Vendors.
