- Conduct thorough assessments of students' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine their specific needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individualized occupational therapy services to students, including interventions and activities to promote independence, improve daily living skills, and enhance overall well-being.
- Collaborate with other members of the educational team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students' therapy goals are aligned with their academic goals.
- Monitor and track student progress, make adjustments to treatment plans as needed, and document all therapy sessions and progress.
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in a student's care to provide updates on progress and discuss any concerns or recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date on current research, best practices, and trends in the field of occupational therapy to continuously improve services and ensure the highest quality of care for students.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student information and adhere to professional ethical standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with community resources and agencies to provide additional support and resources for students and their families.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures and maintain a safe and positive work environment for students and colleagues.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Program.
Current License To Practice As An Occupational Therapist In The State Of Virginia.
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Clinical Experience, Preferably In A School Or Pediatric Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Teams.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With A Strong Focus On Patient-Centered Care And Evidence-Based Practice.
