Job Description

Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and have a strong understanding of maintenance procedures? If so, J.Crew is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our team. As the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores by coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, exceptional time management abilities, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related field.   1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all J.Crew retail locations, including regular preventive maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.
  2. Collaborate with store managers and maintenance technicians to identify and prioritize maintenance needs and develop action plans to address them.
  3. Utilize strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot maintenance issues and develop efficient solutions.
  4. Communicate effectively with store managers, maintenance technicians, and external vendors to coordinate schedules and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  5. Monitor and track maintenance expenses to ensure they are within budget and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in maintenance planning and scheduling to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  7. Conduct regular inspections of store facilities to identify potential maintenance needs and address them proactively.
  8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, work orders, and expenses.
  9. Train and mentor new maintenance technicians on proper maintenance procedures and protocols.
  10. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to ensure timely delivery of materials and payment for maintenance services.
  11. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Work with the HR department to recruit and hire qualified maintenance technicians as needed.
  14. Provide regular reports to management on maintenance activities, expenses, and any potential issues or concerns.
  15. Serve as a point of contact for store managers and maintenance technicians to address any maintenance-related questions or concerns.

  • Experience In Maintenance Planning And Scheduling: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In Maintenance Planning And Scheduling, Preferably Within A Retail Or Similar Environment. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Effectively Manage Maintenance Activities And Ensure Timely Completion Of Tasks.

  • Technical Knowledge And Understanding: A Strong Understanding Of Mechanical, Electrical, And Plumbing Systems Is Important For A Maintenance Planner/Scheduler. Candidates Should Also Have Knowledge Of Relevant Codes And Regulations To Ensure Compliance.
