Job Description

As a Facilities & Maintenance Specialist, you will be at the heart of ensuring our stores, offices, and warehouses are well-maintained, safe, and functional. We are looking for someone who is not only skilled in facilities management and maintenance, but also passionate about creating a welcoming and efficient environment for our team and customers.   1. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of all J.Crew facilities to ensure they meet safety and maintenance standards.
  2. Develop and implement plans for preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure the ongoing functionality and safety of all facilities.
  3. Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair projects, including scheduling and supervising contractors and vendors.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve any facility-related issues, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural problems.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including costs and timelines.
  6. Collaborate with store managers and other department heads to address any facility-related concerns or needs.
  7. Manage and prioritize work orders and service requests from stores, offices, and warehouses.
  8. Monitor and manage inventory of facility supplies and equipment.
  9. Conduct regular safety training for employees and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  10. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the overall functionality and appearance of J.Crew facilities.
  11. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in facility management and maintenance.
  12. Ensure all facilities are in compliance with local and federal regulations.
  13. Oversee and manage budgets for facility maintenance and repairs.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all team members and external partners.
  15. Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and customer service within the facilities and maintenance team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The First Qualification For A Facilities & Maintenance Specialist Job At J.crew Is A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Comprehend Instructions And Manuals Related To Maintenance And Facilities Tasks.

  • Previous Experience In A Similar Role: J.crew Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience In A Facilities And Maintenance Role. This Could Include Experience In A Retail Environment, Where The Candidate Has Dealt With Building Repairs, Hvac Systems, And Other Facilities-Related Tasks.

  • Knowledge Of Building Codes And Safety Regulations: A Facilities & Maintenance Specialist At J.crew Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local Building Codes And Safety Regulations. This Ensures That All Maintenance And Repair Work Is Carried Out In Compliance With These Regulations.

  • Strong Technical Skills: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Must Have Strong Technical Skills And Be Able To Troubleshoot And Repair A Variety Of Building Systems, Including Electrical, Plumbing, And Hvac. They Should Also Be Proficient In Using Various Tools And Equipment Required For Maintenance And Repairs.

  • Ability To Work Independently And In A Team: A Facilities & Maintenance Specialist At J.crew Must Be Able To Work Independently And Also Collaborate With Other Team Members When Needed. This Requires Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, As Well As The Ability To Prioritize And Manage Tasks Effectively.
