- Develop, implement, and maintain tools and processes for monitoring and observing system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions for monitoring and observability needs.
- Configure and manage monitoring tools to ensure accurate and timely detection of system issues.
- Analyze data and metrics from monitoring tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Create and maintain documentation for monitoring and observability processes and procedures.
- Proactively identify potential issues and provide recommendations for preventative measures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to monitoring and observability tools.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in the field of observability and monitoring.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical system issues in a timely manner.
- Train and educate team members on the use of monitoring and observability tools.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure the smooth operation of monitoring and observability tools.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of monitoring and observability processes.
- Maintain a strong focus on security and ensure all tools and processes adhere to company security policies and standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert on monitoring and observability, providing guidance and support to other team members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates and insights on system performance and trends.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.
3+ Years Of Experience In A Devops Or Systems Engineering Role, With A Focus On Observability And Monitoring.
Proficiency In Monitoring And Alerting Tools Such As Prometheus, Grafana, And Splunk.
Hands-On Experience With Scripting And Automation Tools (E.g. Python, Ansible) To Improve Monitoring Processes And Workflows.
Strong Understanding Of Cloud Infrastructure And Services, Preferably With Experience In Aws Or Azure.
