- Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for surgical robotic systems in collaboration with the Vision RD team.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify the most efficient and effective mechanical designs for surgical robotic systems.
- Utilize strong technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering principles to create detailed design specifications and drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into larger systems.
- Participate in the development and execution of testing protocols to ensure the functionality, reliability, and safety of mechanical designs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon existing mechanical designs to enhance performance, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies in mechanical engineering, specifically related to surgical robotic systems.
- Communicate design concepts, progress, and challenges to team members and stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports.
- Adhere to company standards and protocols for design, documentation, and quality control.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to source necessary materials and components for mechanical designs.
- Identify and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise during the design, development, and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards for surgical robotic systems.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and interns to contribute to the success of the Vision RD team.
- Represent Intuitive Surgical and the Vision RD team at conferences, trade shows, and other industry events to showcase our innovative designs and technologies.
- Embrace a culture of continuous learning and improvement to drive innovation and excellence within the organization.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills
Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field
Experience With Cad Software And Design Processes
Knowledge Of Medical Device Regulations And Standards
