- Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and external auditors, to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Research and interpret technical accounting guidance to ensure proper application of US GAAP principles and disclosure requirements.
- Lead the preparation and review of complex accounting transactions, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and business combinations.
- Monitor and analyze changes in accounting standards and regulations, and communicate their impact on the company's financial statements and disclosures.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues and provide guidance on accounting treatment for significant transactions.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information in all SEC filings and other external financial communications.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on technical accounting matters and SEC reporting requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SEC reporting and technical accounting function.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in SEC reporting and technical accounting to support the company's growth and success.
- Represent the company in interactions with regulators, auditors, and other external parties related to SEC reporting and technical accounting matters.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities to senior management and provide recommendations for mitigating risks and improving processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert and resource for the company on SEC reporting and technical accounting matters.
- Uphold the company's values and promote a culture of integrity, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Extensive Knowledge Of Sec Regulations And Reporting Requirements: The Director Of Sec Reporting & Technical Accounting Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of The Complex Rules And Regulations Set Forth By The Securities And Exchange Commission (Sec) In Order To Ensure Accurate And Timely Reporting.
Cpa Certification: A Director Of Sec Reporting & Technical Accounting Should Hold A Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) License, Demonstrating A High Level Of Technical Accounting Knowledge And Expertise.
Strong Technical Accounting Skills: This Role Requires A Thorough Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And The Ability To Apply Them To Complex Transactions And Financial Reporting.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Abilities: As A Senior-Level Position, The Director Of Sec Reporting & Technical Accounting Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Present Financial Information And Provide Guidance To Cross-Functional Teams.
Previous Experience In A Public Company Or Big 4 Accounting Firm: It Is Preferred That Candidates For This Role Have Prior Experience In A Publicly Traded Company Or At A Big 4 Accounting Firm, As This Demonstrates A Proven Track Record Of Managing Sec Reporting And Technical Accounting Matters.
