- Conduct regular audits of payroll tax processes and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including but not limited to W-2s, W-3s, and 1099s, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations and communicate any potential impacts to the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Human Resources and Accounting, to ensure proper handling of payroll taxes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll tax filings or payments.
- Provide support and guidance to payroll and HR teams regarding payroll tax questions and concerns.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll tax records and documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in payroll tax operations.
- Participate in payroll tax-related audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers and tax agencies, to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll tax-related tasks.
- Communicate and train employees on payroll tax-related matters, such as tax withholding and reporting requirements.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests related to payroll tax as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Continuously evaluate and update payroll tax processes and procedures to ensure compliance with changing laws and regulations.
- Act as a subject matter expert on payroll tax matters, providing guidance and support to other team members as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Payroll Tax Compliance, Preferably In A Large Corporation.
Strong Understanding Of Federal, State, And Local Payroll Tax Laws And Regulations.
Proficient In Payroll Tax Software, Such As Adp Or Workday, And Ms Excel.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Identify And Resolve Complex Payroll Tax Issues.
