  1. Manage and maintain the Spectrum Protect system to ensure data protection and availability for clients.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot any issues or errors within the system to ensure smooth operation.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data protection strategies for clients.
  4. Conduct regular data backups and perform data recovery as needed.
  5. Ensure compliance with data protection policies and procedures.
  6. Evaluate and recommend improvements to the system to enhance its performance and efficiency.
  7. Stay updated with the latest technologies and tools related to data protection and implement them as needed.
  8. Train and support end-users on data protection best practices and procedures.
  9. Work closely with clients to understand their data protection needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  10. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
  11. Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity and security of the data.

Job Qualifications

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Ibm Spectrum Protect Software: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Ibm Spectrum Protect Software, Its Features, And Its Functionality. They Should Be Able To Configure, Deploy, And Troubleshoot The Software Effectively.

  • Experience In Backup And Recovery: A Spectrum Protect Administrator Should Have A Solid Background In Backup And Recovery Methodologies, Including Traditional Tape Backups, Disk-Based Backups, And Cloud-Based Backups. They Should Also Be Familiar With Disaster Recovery Procedures.

  • Proficiency In Scripting And Automation: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Scripting Skills And Be Proficient In Automation Tools, Such As Ansible, Puppet, Or Chef. They Should Be Able To Write Scripts To Automate Routine Tasks And Improve Efficiency.

  • Familiarity With Storage And Server Technologies: The Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Storage And Server Technologies, Including San, Nas, Raid, And Virtualization. They Should Also Be Familiar With Different Server Operating Systems, Such As Windows, Linux, And Unix.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: A Spectrum Protect Administrator Should Be Able To Quickly Identify And Resolve Issues Related To Backup And Recovery Processes. They Should Have A Strong Troubleshooting Mindset And Be Able To Think Critically To Find Solutions To Complex Problems.
