  1. Design, implement, and maintain highly reliable and scalable systems to support the company's platforms.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any issues related to platform reliability and performance.
  3. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices for Site Reliability Engineering.
  4. Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and proactively implement solutions.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the company's platforms.
  6. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 availability of the platforms.
  7. Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance platform reliability and performance.
  8. Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of new features and updates.
  9. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to provide updates on platform reliability and performance.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members on best practices and techniques for Site Reliability Engineering.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cloud-based technologies to drive innovation within the company.
  12. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in all Site Reliability Engineering activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Cloud Computing: A Strong Understanding Of Cloud Environments, Including Experience With Major Cloud Providers Such As Aws, Azure, And Google Cloud, Is Essential For A Site Reliability Engineering Professional (Sre) At Ibm. This Includes Knowledge Of Infrastructure As Code, Containerization, And Automation Tools.

  • Proficiency In Programming And Scripting Languages: Sres At Ibm Must Be Skilled In At Least One Programming Language, Such As Python, Java, Or Go, And Have Experience With Scripting Languages Like Bash And Powershell. This Enables Them To Develop And Maintain Automation Tools And Perform Tasks Like Monitoring And Troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge Of Devops Principles: Sres At Ibm Are Responsible For Bridging The Gap Between Development And Operations Teams. A Strong Understanding Of Devops Principles, Including Continuous Integration And Delivery, Is Crucial For Ensuring The Smooth Operation Of The Platform.

  • Experience With Monitoring And Alerting Tools: Sres Must Have Experience With Monitoring And Alerting Tools Such As Prometheus, Grafana, And Splunk. They Should Be Able To Set Up And Configure These Tools To Collect And Analyze Data, And Use The Insights Gained To Proactively Identify And Address Potential Issues.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Troubleshooting Skills: Sres At Ibm Must Be Able To Quickly Identify And Resolve Complex Technical Issues In A Fast-Paced Environment. This Requires Strong Problem-Solving Skills, The Ability To Think Critically, And A Solid Understanding Of System Architecture And Networking Principles.
