Job Description

As a Mainframe Systems Admin Intern at IBM, you will play an integral role in maintaining the company's mainframe systems and its integrity, security and stability. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the required qualifications to join our team and help ensure that our mainframe systems remain highly available and secure for our customers.We are looking for someone with a passion for technology and the ability to think on their feet and take initiative in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. To succeed in this role, you must have a strong interest in mainframe systems administration and be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other team members.The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and have experience with mainframe systems, as well as experience with Linux and Windows operating systems. Additionally, you should have excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.If you possess the required qualifications and have the passion to provide excellent support for IBM’s mainframe systems, then we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the integrity, security, and stability of IBM's mainframe systems.
  2. Work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
  3. Analyze and troubleshoot mainframe systems issues.
  4. Monitor and maintain mainframe systems performance.
  5. Develop and implement procedures for system maintenance and updates.
  6. Perform system maintenance and upgrades as required.
  7. Manage user accounts and security settings.
  8. Provide technical support to users.
  9. Research and recommend new technologies for mainframe systems.
  10. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and standards.
