- Develop and maintain mainframe applications and systems for IBM, utilizing the latest technologies and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure timely delivery of high-quality code.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex mainframe programs and resolve any issues that arise during the development process.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology in order to continuously improve and optimize existing systems.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for all mainframe applications and systems.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
- Follow best practices and coding standards to ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of all mainframe applications.
- Continuously test and monitor mainframe systems to identify and address any performance issues.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, issues, and solutions.
- Train and mentor junior developers on mainframe programming techniques and best practices.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement and suggest new ideas to enhance the overall development process.
- Adhere to IBM's policies and procedures, including security and compliance standards, at all times.
Proficiency In Mainframe Programming Languages Such As Cobol, Pl/I, Or Assembler.
Strong Understanding Of Ibm's Mainframe Operating Systems, Such As Z/Os Or Z/Vm.
Experience In Developing And Maintaining Applications On Mainframe Platforms, Including Systems Integration And Debugging.
Knowledge Of Database Management Systems, Specifically Ibm's Db2.
Familiarity With Ibm's Mainframe Hardware And Software Products, Including Zseries Servers And Ibm's Mainframe Development Tools Such As Rational Developer For Z Systems.
